About the Artist Guide

   Ancha Baumann was born & raised in Switzerland. Her parents were political refugees from Hungary, who settled in Geneva - a town which homed many international consulates. This enabled Ancha's awareness of the beauty in the diversity of the people of our Earth, as her childhood friends were a "rainbow tribe".
   Ancha was schooled in Switzerland & Oxford England. She is a trained Montessori Teacher & Educator. She has taught for over 25 years in Montessori & Waldorf schools, Private, Public & Charter schools in Switzerland, France, Italy, England & the USA.
  While teaching in Montessori Schools she developed an entire Art curriculum interwoven with the Montessori academics K-9th grade. This very successful creation led her to open her own workshops which within two years culminated into an International Dialogue, about global issues of our planet, through Textile Arts for children.
   The Arts have always fascinated Ancha, who is a self-taught artist & an eternal student of Vibrational Healing Arts & meditation. Her artistic creations include watercolors, silk paintings, as well as soft textile, clay, cement & bronze sculptures.
    She teaches at the Joyful Alternative Art School which she opened in the late 80's & through which she serves her community's children, teens & adults. She works with all ages in small groups, one-on-one or with families, schools & homeschoolers. Special teacher trainings are also available so as to gift her program to as many children as possible.
